For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
There is a huge difference between knowing about God and truly knowing God.
A big gulf between practicing religion and having a relationship with Jesus.
This intertwines with the scripture 2 Corinthians 13:5. It states, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?”
My boyfriend, Alex and I are doing a bible study together called, War Room. I can tell you now we love it and what a wonderful way to grow a relationship with the word of God and study it together.
OK. Back to what I was saying.
In our bible study, it speaks in 2 Corinthians 13:5 and 2 Corinthians 5:17. It says, “There is a big difference between claiming to be a Christian and actually knowing Christ and living as a maturing believer. Sure, anyone can claim to know Him, but those that do will experience a genuine heart transformation from the inside out.
We need to examine ourselves.
As far as us Christians, there is always room to grow deeper and stronger in the word of God – that way we as Christians can be testimonies to those around us that don’t know Him. It is our job.
Sure, we all have sins t0o! Being a Christians doesn’t mean we are all perfect, by all means. As a matter of fact, we are FAR from perfect. However, because we are forgiven He loves us despite our sins.
Isn’t that beautiful?
May blind eyes see. May hearts awaken. May the spiritually dead come to everlasting life in Christ! Jesus, we will lift you high. Please draw us all to you. Amen.
